An injection-molded plastic kit of the British battlecruiser HMS Renown in her 1945 condition in 1:700 scale from Trumpeter. The model allows building with a full hull as well as in a waterline version, and a display stand is included in the box. The 1945 form corresponds to the late-war appearance of the ship with her added anti-aircraft and radar equipment.
HMS Renown was a battlecruiser of the class of the same name in the Royal Navy. She combined strong main armament of 381 mm with higher speed at the expense of armor. The ship went through an extensive refit and in the Second World War served in the Atlantic and in the Mediterranean. Toward the end of the war she carried extended light anti-aircraft armament and radars.
The hull can be built whole or as a waterline version; clean the joints carefully. Use thin liquid cement on the plastic and apply the paints with an airbrush over a primer. It is worth distinguishing the shades of the wartime camouflage and picking the deck details out gently. The railings and the fine fittings can be completed with photo-etched sets, which are not included in the package.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
