USS Honolulu CL-48 is a plastic kit of the American Brooklyn class light cruiser in 1:700 scale from the manufacturer Vee Hobby, supplied in the higher Deluxe edition with added detailing parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the light cruiser Honolulu. The main purchasing distinction is the level of the edition: this is the Deluxe edition, that is the middle of three levels. The manufacturer keeps this line in three levels: Standard builds on plastic and decals, Deluxe adds detailing extras and Platinum is the highest level. The extent differs between individual vessels, so check the contents on the packaging. The manufacturer also releases the same ship in the Standard version. The designation CL-48 belongs to a light cruiser.
The Honolulu was a Brooklyn class light cruiser, accepted into service on 15 June 1938. The main armament of the class consisted of fifteen barrels of 152 mm caliber in five triple turrets. The Honolulu went through the Pacific theater and served in the same formation as her sister the Helena. She was decommissioned in February 1947 and went for scrap in 1959. The ship does not serve today.
Decide between the full hull and the waterline, as the choice of stand depends on that too. The five gun turrets and the stern hangar with catapults are the main surfaces of detail on the Brooklyn class. Fit the photo-etched railings only after the hull has been painted and join the metal parts with cyanoacrylate. Paint the decks separately from the hull and mask the camouflage transitions.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
