USS New Jersey BB-62 as she appeared in 1945 is a plastic kit of the American battleship in 1:700 from Vee Hobby, supplied in the Standard version, that is in the basic equipment level.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the battleship New Jersey in her 1945 configuration. The main purchasing distinction is the equipment level: this is the Standard version, that is the basic level, which builds on plastic parts and decals. The manufacturer runs this line in three levels, where the Deluxe edition with detailing accessories stands above the Standard version and the Platinum level highest of all. The scope of the accessories differs from vessel to vessel, so check the contents on the box.
New Jersey was the second battleship of the Iowa class and carried guns of 406 mm caliber. She reached the Pacific at the beginning of 1944, took part in the operation against the Marshall Islands and served as flagship of Admiral Spruance during the February attack on Truk. The year 1945 then meant support for the landing on Iwo Jima and for the fighting over the Ryukyu Islands. From August to November 1945 she carried out the duties of a flagship while the Japanese surrender was being secured. The year given refers to exactly this appearance of the vessel.
Decide between the full hull and the waterline, as the choice of stand depends on it too. Paint the superstructures and decks separately from the hull. The late wartime finish is more uniform than the earlier schemes, so it comes out better through shading of the decks and gentle weathering than through sharp masking. Paint the small anti-aircraft armament while still on the sprue.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
