A color display base for a model that faithfully shows the cobbled surface of a German airfield of the Second World War period, that is, the kind of hard surface with which aprons and taxiways were laid. The base is round and serves as a ready-made ground: the model is stood on it and at once no longer stands on an empty table but at an airfield. It is a display base, not a kit and not a diorama.
The base is printed, so the surface is smooth and the color artwork does all the work. The impression is raised greatly by adding small things: dust and dirt in the places where they would gather, a tuft of grass in a joint or small equipment. Before setting the model down, check that the base is large enough and that the model does not overhang into empty space with its span, because an overhanging wing destroys the illusion. Store the base flat, a crease would stay visible on a printed surface.
For collectors who display finished models, for modelers who photograph their work and for anyone who wants a setting without building a diorama. Against a built scene a base has the advantage that it can be exchanged at any time and that it takes up no more room than a sheet of paper.
Keep the product dry and out of the reach of children. The printed surface does not stand up to solvents.
