Replacement main landing gear wheels cast in resin, 1:72 scale, the manufacturer's part number ARAW72431, from the Ukrainian brand Armory. The set is aimed at the late production series of the Lancaster and the manufacturer adds to it the successor of that aircraft, the Avro Lincoln, which had landing gear of the same design. The manufacturer describes it as universal, that is without a tie to one kit. The tire is cast weighted, with a flattened contact patch. It is neither a model nor a main part of one, but a detail accessory.
The Avro Lincoln was a development of the Lancaster: it received a greater span, more powerful engines and equipment for long-range operations. It entered the war only in its closing stage, but with the RAF and in several other air arms it served out the postwar years as the last British piston-engined heavy bomber. Late Lancasters and Lincolns share a number of features, among them the design of the main landing gear wheels, which took a higher takeoff weight.
Wash the resin before gluing and cut the casting block off with a saw. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and point the contact patch vertically toward the ground. Apply a primer before painting; tint the tire toward dark gray and set the rim apart in a lighter shade.
