An injection-molded plastic kit of the B-25J Mitchell medium bomber in 1:72 scale. The Polish brand Hobby 2000 releases the kit in a new box with new decals; the plastic parts come from a Hasegawa mold. The boxing captures the version with a glazed nose for the bombardier.
The North American B-25 Mitchell was a twin-engine medium bomber that the American air forces and their allies deployed on every front of the Second World War. The B-25J version was the most numerous and was built with two forms of nose: a glazed nose with a bombardier station for classic level bombing, and a solid nose packed with machine guns for low-level attacks. The glazed variant remained the classic silhouette that most people associate with the Mitchell, and it served for a long time after the war as well.
The glazed sections will take the most work: mask the nose, the turrets and the waist positions and glue them with glue for clear parts. Paint the interior of the pilot cockpit and the bombardier station before the fuselage is closed, because the view through the clear nose is good. Aluminum or olive drab surfaces come out well on a smooth base, so sand after filling and lay down primer. Lay the decals over an intermediate gloss clear coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
