A limited-edition plastic kit of the B-25J Mitchell bomber with a solid nose in 1:72 scale from the Polish brand Hobby 2000.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the twin-engine North American B-25J medium bomber in 1:72 scale, in the solid-nose rendition. The Polish brand Hobby 2000 releases it as a limited edition; the plastic comes from a mold by the Japanese company Hasegawa and the manufacturer adds its own decals.
The B-25J was the most numerous version of the Mitchell. Besides the usual glazed bombardier nose, it was also delivered with a solid nose that held a battery of heavy machine guns. Such aircraft were not used for classic high-altitude bombing but for low-level attacks on ground targets, airfields and ships. In the Pacific this way of operating proved itself so well that solid noses were also fitted in the field afterwards.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic. Mask the glazing of the pilot cockpit and the gun positions before spraying; the solid-nose version has less glazing but more gun barrels, which are better attached at the very end. American schemes from the Pacific rest on olive drab and neutral gray, or on bare metal; after the decals, unify the surface with a varnish and emphasize the panel lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
