An injection-molded plastic kit of the Curtiss Hawk II biplane fighter in 1:72 scale from RS Models. This edition focuses on South American operators and offers decals for machines serving in the colors of Latin American air forces. In the box you will find plastic parts, a clear canopy part and a decal sheet.
The Curtiss Hawk II was the export version of the American carrier-based biplane fighter derived from the F11C Goshawk. It was powered by a Wright Cyclone radial engine and in the 1930s it was bought by a number of countries. In Latin America the machines served with several air forces and some were used in the regional conflicts of the time.
With short-run kits expect careful cleaning up of the parts and dry test fitting before gluing. Glue the joints with thin cement for plastic; the fine struts and bracing of a biplane call for patience. We recommend a primer, covering with an airbrush and stretched rigging wires for a faithful appearance. A gloss coat under the decals ensures a clean transition.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
