Bronco DFS 230 V-6 is a plastic kit of a German assault glider with braking rockets in 1:72 scale, with photo-etched parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German DFS 230 assault glider in the V-6 prototype form with braking rockets, in 1:72 scale from Bronco. It is a mold from 2017; the box holds a plastic sprue, a photo-etched fret and a decal sheet with one marking option. The kit contains parts for the rocket form as well as the original nose, so the basic glider without rockets can be built too.
The DFS 230 was an unpowered assault glider, towed by a transport aircraft and intended to put a party of troops down directly on the objective. It is best known for its use against the Belgian fortress of Eben-Emael in 1940. The V-6 prototype received three forward-facing rockets in the nose, which were meant to brake the run sharply after touchdown and allow a landing on a very short strip. It remained a prototype form and the conversion never went into series.
Decide at the start whether you are building the rocket form or the basic glider; the nose parts are mutually exclusive. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate and shape them first. The fabric covering of the fuselage comes alive if you pick out the lengthwise ribbing with a very fine wash after the base coat; a heavy wash would look like dirt instead. Set the wing struts according to the instructions with the help of a template, so that the wing is true to the axis.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
