F6F-5 Hellcat engine cowling with closed flaps 1:72 (QuickBoost) is a replacement engine cowling with closed cooling flaps for the Eduard Hellcat kit. It is an accessory, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A replacement part for building the American carrier-based fighter Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat in 1:72 scale. The set replaces the engine cowling and the cooling flaps in the closed position, that is in the state in which the aircraft stood with the engine shut down. The box gives the Hellcat from Eduard as the target kit. The QuickBoost brand belongs to the Czech maker Aires Hobby Models and specializes in simple replacement parts.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was a carrier-based fighter that from 1943 bore the main weight of the fighting in the Pacific. It was powered by a twin-row Pratt and Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial of over two thousand horsepower, thanks to which the Hellcat had a good rate of climb and good endurance over water. The F6F-5 version was the most numerous and brought a reworked engine cowling, a stronger wing and the ability to carry bombs and unguided rockets.
Wash the resin parts in warm soapy water before gluing so that the mold release agent disappears from the surface, as otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut off the casting block with a saw or a cutting disc, never with nippers, which will break the resin. Sand the mating surface flat and glue the part with cyanoacrylate glue or epoxy, because cement for plastic will not hold here. When sanding resin use a respirator or sand wet; the dust is not good to breathe.
This is an accessory to a model, not a kit. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
