Grant Mk. I El Alamein 1:72 is a plastic kit of the British version of the American M3 medium tank as rendered by the Polish brand Mirage Hobby. The package adds photo-etched parts and decals for a British Army vehicle.

The Grant was the British adaptation of the American M3 medium tank. Unlike the original version it was given a lower turret with room for a radio at the rear and without a commander's cupola, so it had a lower silhouette that was easier to hide in the desert. The main 75 mm gun stayed in the right side of the hull with limited traverse, while a 37 mm gun sat in the turret. It was the Grants that in 1942 gave the British 8th Army its first tank able to fire effective high-explosive as well as armor-piercing ammunition at longer range, and German crews had to get used to its gun. The tank thus became a typical silhouette of the North African fighting, including the Second Battle of El Alamein.
Bend the photo-etched parts over a metal edge and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), not with cement for plastic. The flexible tracks have to be stretched carefully over the running gear and held until the joint holds; paint grips them well only after degreasing. A desert finish will stand out with lighter and darker shades sprayed into the panels and with a fine dust filter; worn edges and dust on the running gear will turn the model into a machine that has already covered some ground.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
