Resin wheels for the Douglas DC-6 and the C-118 Liftmaster in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Plusmodel. Landing gear detail for the airliner and the military version alike.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of cast wheels for the Douglas DC-6 and its military version, the C-118 Liftmaster, in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Plusmodel. On a four-engine aircraft the wheels are conspicuous and carry the whole weight of the model, so this is one of those accessories that are noticed at once. Castings usually have finer tread detail than plastic parts.
The Douglas DC-6 was a four-engine airliner with radial engines, a pressurized cabin and long range. It was among the most successful piston airliners of all and flew with companies all over the world. The military version, the C-118 Liftmaster, served for carrying people and cargo, and some of the machines stayed in service long after jets arrived.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and cut the casting blocks off with a saw so that the cut falls where the wheel meets the ground. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint the tires dark gray, leave the crown lighter and apply a dark wash into the tread. On airliners kept clean, light dusting is enough; on military machines you can allow yourself stronger dirt.
The set is an accessory for a kit and does not replace the kit. Paints, glue and a model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
