Wheels with a longitudinal tread for Soviet fighters 1:72 (Quinta Studio) Printed resin wheels with a longitudinal tread for Soviet fighters in 1:72 scale, for any kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of printed resin wheels with a longitudinal tire tread in 1:72 scale from the Russian brand Quinta Studio. The box states the Soviet fighters LaGG-3, MiG-3, La-5, La-7, La-9, Yak-7 and Yak-9 as the subjects and offers the set as universal for any kit. The choice of tread is not cosmetic: in period photographs the two variants alternate according to the production batch and according to re-shoeing at the unit.
The Lavochkin La-5 was one of the most important Soviet fighters of the Second World War. It came about when the designers fitted the powerful Shvetsov radial engine into the airframe of the not very successful LaGG-3, which gave the aircraft both speed and climb and at a stroke made it an equal match for the German fighters. The structure remained largely wooden, which was an advantage in Soviet conditions, because production did not draw on scarce aluminum.
Printed resin parts are hard and brittle, so handle them carefully. Wash them first in warm soapy water, so that any print residue disappears from the surface and the paint holds. Cut the supports off with a saw or a cutting disc, never with sprue nippers. Sand the mating surface flat and glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or with epoxy, because cement for plastic will not hold here. Wear a respirator when sanding, or sand wet.
This is an add-on for a model, not a kit. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
