The Model Set version packs the basic paints, a brush and glue in with the model, so the package holds more than the kit alone.
The Super Hornet is a twin-engine carrier-based aircraft of the US Navy that follows on from the earlier Hornet, but is considerably larger and has a new wing, enlarged tail surfaces and square air intakes. The F/A designation expresses the dual role, fighter and strike, and the aircraft fills it thanks to eleven hardpoints and the ability to refuel in flight from another aircraft of the same type. The F version is two-seat with the crew in tandem; the single-seater is designated E. The type forms the core of the carrier air wings of the US Navy.
The joint of the intake ducts with the fuselage and the cockpit, which you should finish before closing the fuselage, will take the most attention. The gray naval finish stands on two close shades, so split the spraying and keep the transitions soft. Carrier aircraft tend to have a heavily worn surface, so a fine wash in the panel lines and carefully suggested scuffs on the edges pay off. Glue the external stores and the landing gear on last.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. According to the manufacturer the Model Set holds the basic paints, a brush and glue; other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
