1:72 Panzerjaeger I (4.7 cm PaK(t) (sf) auf PzKpfw I Ausf. B), Late Version is an injection-molded kit of the early German tank destroyer in its late form.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Panzerjäger I tank destroyer in 1:72 scale, in the late version with a taller and wider shield. The instructions are in Polish and English. The set belongs to a range of small kits that build quickly and without great demands on equipment, so it also suits as an addition to a diorama beside larger models.
The Panzerjäger I was the first German production tank destroyer. It came about by taking the turret off the light Panzer I Ausf. B and seating a Czechoslovak 4.7 cm anti-tank gun on the hull, covered only by an open shield. The crew was therefore exposed from above and from behind, but it got a weapon that in 1940 could deal with most opponents. The vehicles were built from the spring of 1940 to the beginning of 1941 and fought in France as well as in North Africa and on the Eastern Front. The late version differs from the early one precisely in the shape and the size of the shield.
The open fighting compartment is visible, so finish and paint the inside before you seat the shield. Cut the small running gear parts off the sprue with nippers and sand the sprue gate remnant down, as in this scale every irregularity shows. The gray finish of the early vehicles is brought to life by lightening the upper surfaces and a wash that flows into the recesses, while earthy pigments belong on the treads.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
