The EoN Eton TX.1 / SG-38 Over Western Europe is a plastic kit of a training glider (an engineless sailplane) in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of a training glider in 1:72 scale. The model captures the British glider EoN Eton TX.1 and the design it was based on, the German training glider SG-38 Schulgleiter with its typical open truss structure. The Over Western Europe boxing offers schemes of machines operated in western Europe. The exact contents of the package, the number of parts and the marking options are given on the packaging and in the instructions.
The SG-38 (Schulgleiter 38) was a single-seat engineless training glider with an open truss frame on which the pilot sat practically without an enclosed fuselage. It was among the most widespread training gliders of the interwar period and the Second World War and served for the very first stage of gliding instruction. The British EoN Eton TX.1 grew out of the same concept of a simple training glider. Being a glider it has no engine and gets into the air with a bungee cord, a winch or an aerotow.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with a thin modeling cement for plastic. With an open truss structure, take care to deburr cleanly and to glue the fine members accurately; patience and a thin brush or an airbrush help when painting. Apply a primer before varnishing. The model shows well on a simple base that emphasizes its delicate, wiry structure.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
