A plastic kit in 1:72 scale which contains two models in one box: the German SLT56 heavy tank transporter tractor with its semitrailer (nicknamed Franziska) and the modern Leopard 2A7 tank from Takom. The set offers decals for four marking options, link-and-length tracks for the tank and photo-etched parts. The whole transport combination of tractor and semitrailer can be built, with the tank loaded on it.
The SLT56 is a German heavy road tractor for a tank transporter, developed in the 1980s as an alternative to the older SLT50 Elefant for carrying Leopard 2 tanks. The tractor has 8x6 drive and tows a massive lowboy semitrailer. The Leopard 2A7 is a modern version of the German Leopard 2 main battle tank with improved armor and equipment for the present-day battlefield; both types serve in the German army (the Bundeswehr). The combination of tractor and tank makes it possible to build a realistic scene of armor being transported.
On both vehicles, finish the running gear and the chassis before closing the hull. In the small 1:72 scale, work carefully with the link-and-length tracks of the tank and with the small photo-etched parts, which should be glued with cyanoacrylate. Apply a primer and the camouflage with an airbrush — the NATO scheme (green, brown, black) is suitable. Washes emphasize the details and pigments add dust and mud to the tracks, the wheels and underneath. On the tractor, do not forget the cabling and the tie-down fittings of the semitrailer.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
