Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet airliner Tu-134 in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian company Amodel. The package holds plastic sprues, a clear sprue for the cockpit, a photo-etched fret and a decal sheet. This release is marked for a machine of the Polish company LOT. It is a short-run kit, so the parts call for more preparation than those from the large Japanese makers.
The Tu-134 was a twin-engined jet airliner for short and medium-haul routes, developed in the Tupolev design bureau. Characteristic features are the engines mounted on the sides of the tail and the horizontal tail surfaces at the top of the fin, that is a T-tail arrangement. The versions with the NATO designation Crusty became one of the most widespread airliner types of the Eastern bloc and, besides Aeroflot, a number of other companies put them into service.
With a short-run mold it pays to try all the large assemblies dry first and then true the joints up with filler and sanding. A smooth airliner skin will reveal every irregularity, so after filling, spray the surface with a filler primer and check it under a side light. A gloss finish is handled best with an airbrush; settle the decals with the airline livery over a gloss base so that the edges of the carrier film do not show.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
