Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet fuel tanker truck on the ZiS-5 chassis in 1:72 scale from PST. The letters BZ in the designation belong to the Soviet fuel tankers that refueled aircraft as well as ground equipment. The model is therefore not a combat vehicle but a typical machine of the rear areas and of airfield aprons.
The ZiS-5 truck was a Soviet three-ton vehicle of the 1930s and became one of the pillars of Red Army transport. Its simple and robust chassis carried dozens of special bodies, and one of the most widespread was precisely the tanker with its tank, pump and dispensing equipment. Vehicles of this kind served air units, tank columns and supply depots, and ranked among the hardest working machines of the rear. Tanker versions on ZiS chassis stayed in use even after the war ended.
Paint the tank and the cab separately and glue them only after spraying; that way you reach into the seams more easily. Dry-fit the frame and the axles before gluing so that the vehicle stands level on all its wheels. Lay the olive shade over a filler primer and lift the edges with a lighter tone. On tankers an oily patina around the dispensing fittings and the hoses looks convincing; build it with a dark wash and with gloss varnish sunk into small areas. Finish the tires with matte black and dust.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
