An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Studebaker US6 truck in the cargo version, in 1:72 scale from PST. The model captures the most common form of the vehicle, that is the bed for carrying freight and troops. In 1:72 scale it suits figures and vehicles of the same size and belongs among the basic building blocks of supply scenes.
The Studebaker US6 was an American medium-heavy truck which made its name in the Second World War above all through deliveries to the Soviet Union. The vehicles were built in enormous numbers and in the Red Army they were used to carry freight, to tow artillery and as a chassis for special bodies. The best known of these was the BM-13N rocket launcher carrier. For Soviet units the US6 meant a step change in the mobility of supply, and it was liked so much that a colloquial name taken from the maker came into use.
Dry-fit the frame and the axles; with trucks in 1:72 the whole stance of the model depends on it. Paint the cargo bed and the cab separately before you join them. Use a filler primer under the olive shade, then lift the edges with a lighter tone. Wooden elements of the bed, if the package contains them, are built up in thin layers of brown tones over a light base. Build the dust on the fenders and the wheels with pigment from the bottom upward and do not overdo it, so that the engraved detail stays visible.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
