The subject is the legendary British Supermarine Spitfire fighter in the early Mk.IIa version. Thanks to the simple build and the low level of difficulty it makes an ideal first model and a gift.
The Spitfire is one of the most iconic British fighters of the Second World War and one of the symbols of the Battle of Britain. It was powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine and became famous for its elegant elliptical wing and excellent handling. The Mk.II was an early production variant; the Mk.IIa carried machine gun armament. Aircraft of this version served with RAF squadrons in the first years of the war.
Cut the parts carefully from the sprues and glue them with the enclosed cement – a small drop is enough for plastic. Paint the cockpit and fit it before you close the fuselage. Apply the enclosed paints with a brush in thin coats; for a smoother result you can move on to an airbrush later. The set is built so that a beginner can manage it with no further equipment.
Unlike ordinary kits, this Starter Kit set contains paints, a brush and glue. The model is nevertheless supplied unassembled and unpainted.
