A stand for fine brushes, red version, from DSPIAE. It holds the brushes so that the point rests against nothing.
Responsibility details are not available.
A rest for brushes both during work and after it. It looks like a trifle, but putting a brush down is in fact the most common way a modeler ruins one: laid flat in paint on the top, resting its point against a cup or stood bristles down. In the stand a brush stands so that the point touches nothing and the remaining paint does not run from it down to the root of the bristle.
Let washed brushes dry so that neither water nor thinner runs into the ferrule; it is moisture at the root of the bristle that eventually loosens the ferrule and splays the point. During work it pays to keep a brush with clean water in the stand as well, so that a color transition can be adjusted while the paint is still wet.
The stand does not replace washing a brush out. Paint that has dried in the bristle will never come out of it and the shape of the point is gone for good.
Brushes, paints and thinner are not included in the package. The color version serves to tell them apart, not to give a different function.
A stand is worth having even where only a few brushes are in use. A ruined fine brush costs more than a stand, and it gets ruined at exactly the moment one puts it down for a while in order to mix a color.
