This large injection-molded plastic kit captures the Soviet Mi-6 heavy helicopter in its specialized VKP version, that is, as an airborne command and communications post. Amodel is a short-run manufacturer, so the model is more demanding to build: expect to clean up the parts, to tidy the edges and to dry-fit carefully. Given the size of the subject, it makes a striking piece for a collection. The package contains decals and the clear parts of the cabin.
In its day the Mi-6 was one of the largest and most powerful helicopters in the world. Besides the transport role, a number of specialized versions were built; the VKP served as a flying command post with extended communications equipment, which showed on the outside as additional antennas and changes to the fuselage. The auxiliary wing that offloaded the rotor in flight was another characteristic feature.
Dry-fit the parts first and align them. Use liquid cement for the plastic, and it is worth supporting the large fuselage surfaces before gluing. We recommend a primer and spraying with an airbrush; glue the clear parts of the cabin with canopy glue so that they do not fog.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
