Aventus Fine Line Air Cap

Fine line air cap for the Gaahleri Aventus

An air cap in the fine line version for the Gaahleri Aventus airbrush. The manufacturer lists it under the name fine line air cap as a separate part in its group of air caps for the Aventus, an Ace Series airbrush with a body machined from a single block of aluminum alloy. This is not an airbrush, but a single part.

What the air cap does

The air cap screws on from the outside over the nozzle cap and shapes the air that atomizes the paint. The fine line version is more open, so you can see the needle well and hit a narrow line more easily; retailers highlight exactly that better view of the work and finer control of the spray. The Aventus comes with two different air caps in the box, and this one is bought in addition.

Use and maintenance

• For fine lines the manufacturer recommends a lower pressure on the Aventus, 10 to 15 psi.
• Thin the paint down; paint that is not thinned enough breaks a fine line up.
• Keep the nozzle free of dried residue, which the manufacturer calls for as well.
• Tighten the cap with your fingers; the thread is fine and thin-walled.
