What the handle does

The handle closes off the rear of the body above the end of the needle and above the spring assembly, and it is held while spraying. You have to unscrew it at every deeper cleaning, so it is handled more than any other part, and precisely for that reason its turn comes first, whether it is scuffed anodizing, an edge dented after a drop, or a seized thread. The Aventus body is machined from a single block of aluminum and anodized; the manufacturer conceived it as a three-piece modular body whose module colors are combined.

What to watch when choosing

• Dark blue is the darker of the blue variants; the lighter one is Lake Blue.
• The choice of color has no effect on how the tool runs or sprays.
• The Aventus airbrush came in several generations, so compare the version with your own tool.

When replacing it, tighten the handle with your fingers only: a damaged thread in the body will not be repaired and costs more than the spare part itself. Dried paint also shows up well on dark anodizing, so wiping the atomized mist off the surface right after work pays off.
