The handle screws onto the rear of the body, closes off the rear end of the needle with the spring assembly, and offers the fingers a surface by which the tool is held. During cleaning it is unscrewed and refitted again, and that is also the reason why a scuffed edge or a seized thread turns up on the handle sooner than elsewhere. The Aventus body is machined from a single block of aluminum and anodized; the manufacturer built it as a three-piece modular body whose module colors are combined, so the tool can be recolored by changing a part instead of buying a new one.
For owners of the Gaahleri Aventus airbrush who put the tool together in a color combination of their own, and for those whose original handle has been damaged. The bolder variants of the same part are Mars Red and Blue Gray.
