The manufacturer describes it as an easily shaped metal cable of high quality and recommends it for ships in 1:144 to 1:350 scale and for armor models in 1:72 to 1:76 scale. The manufacturer does not state a scale for this item. Before painting it recommends applying a base, because paint will not hold on smooth metal without preparation. It is neither a kit nor a finished part but a material for building and for dioramas.

How to work with the material

Measure the length dry on the model first, because once a piece is cut off it cannot be lengthened. Shape it with tweezers and with finger pressure, not with a sharp tool that would damage the surface. Stowage on the cargo bed or on the armor looks convincing only when the material follows gravity: two loose sags between three points are more convincing than one taut run. Spot-glue the finished stowage with cyanoacrylate glue, then degrease, apply a base and only then paint. A dark wash into the braid or into the links will draw out the structure at the end.

Who the material is for

The material suits modelers who want a cable with a real curve and a visible braided structure. Structure and a loose curve are the two things a plastic casting can never manage, and the eye notices them at once.

Work with scissors or wire cutters, as the ends of the wire fray and are sharp. Degrease and apply a base before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on the metal. We recommend securing the cut ends with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue so that the braid does not come apart.
