Responsibility details are not available.
An English-language monograph from the Warpaint aviation series, published by Guideline Publications. The text was written by Matthew Willis. It is not a kit but a publication on the British single-seat biplane of the First World War. The volume follows the development of the type, its versions and its service with the land and the naval flying corps.
In 1914 and 1915 the Bristol Scout was among the fastest and most agile machines of its time, and a rotary engine powered it. It came about before firing through the propeller disc was solved, so the weapons were mounted at an angle off the axis or above the wing, and often only at the front, according to the crew's own idea. One of the pilots had a machine gun fixed to the side of his machine and won the highest British decoration with it. By 1916 the type was no longer a match for the newly armed opponents and it passed to training.
For modelers of First World War aircraft and for readers interested in the beginnings of fighter aviation. It also suits anyone who builds less usual types from the first years of aviation and looks for reliable pictorial material for them. The text is in English.
