Fairey Barracuda is a monograph on the British carrier-based torpedo and dive bomber. It came out in the British Warpaint 35 series, which devotes each volume to a single aircraft type and sums up its development, service and appearance in a single booklet in A4 format. The volume was written by W. A. Harrison. The publication is in English. It is not a kit and not an accessory for building a model.
The Barracuda was the first all-metal carrier-based torpedo and dive bomber of the Fleet Air Arm and was to replace the older biplanes. Its recognition features were the high-set wing with Fairey-Youngman flaps and a high-set tailplane. The best-known deployment of the type was the attacks on the German battleship Tirpitz in the Norwegian fjords in 1944.
The volume is meant for builders of carrier aircraft and for anyone interested in the war at sea who is looking for drawings and camouflage schemes. The combination of photographs, drawings and color schemes serves as a basis for building and painting a model.
