Handley Page Halifax and Halton is a monograph on the British four-engine heavy bomber and its transport version. It came out in the British Warpaint 46 series, which devotes each volume to a single aircraft type and sums up its development, service and appearance in a single booklet in A4 format. The volume was written by Tony Buttler. The publication is in English. It is not a kit and not an accessory for building a model.
After the Lancaster, the Halifax was the second most important four-engine heavy bomber of the Royal Air Force. Besides night bombing it served for maritime patrol, for towing gliders and for dropping agents over occupied Europe. After the war a civil transport conversion designated Halton was created from the bombers, and it carried cargo and passengers at a time when new transport aircraft were in short supply.
The book suits builders of British bombers and anyone interested in postwar civil transport. The combination of photographs, drawings and color schemes serves as a basis for building and painting a model.
