LED foam 5 mm, medium hardness is a light, shapeable material that light shines through, intended for costumes and props.

A foam material five millimeters thick which, unlike ordinary costume foam, lets light through. That makes it possible to build parts of armor shells, helmets and props lit from the inside. The material has fine pores, so it holds its shape, and at the same time it is lighter than the usual foam of the same thickness. Medium hardness is a compromise between the stiffness of the part and the ability to bend it.
Make the cuts with a new blade in a single pass; a blunt blade frays the edge. The edges can be rounded off with hot air, after which the material stiffens slightly and the surface closes up. Place the light source as far from the surface as possible, so that the point spreads out and does not shine from a single spot, and watch its temperature, as the foam is not built for heat. It is glued with contact adhesive for foams; super glue tends to be brittle on large areas.
