Fluorescent green is a shade you will find neither in nature nor on period military subjects. That is exactly why it is used on a model where a face is meant to be impossible to miss: on the glowing elements of robot kits, on gaming figures and on modern markings.
The tip is made of a fine spongy material and gives way to the shape of the part. The point draws thin lines and outlines edges, while the side of the tip covers an area in one stroke. The binder is acrylic and thins with water, so the work goes without any smell and without solvents. A dried mark can be wiped off with alcohol, so a mistake can be put right without sanding and without painting over it.
Judge a fluorescent shade only once it has dried; a fresh layer looks darker than it will end up. On a dark base it pays to lay white under the paint, otherwise it loses its glow. Lay a second coat only onto a dry base, otherwise the tip dissolves the first one and the mark smears.
The marker pen will be appreciated by builders of robot kits and figure painters who need a small glowing detail quickly and without preparing a brush and a palette. It also suits touch-ups on finished models, where mixed paint would only go to waste.
Fluorescent shades cover less well than ordinary paints. Always put the cap back on after work, otherwise the tip dries out; if it dries out even so, dipping it lightly in alcohol helps.
