A marker pen with a soft sponge tip filled with acrylic metallic paint. It serves for painting small areas and edges where spraying would not be worth it and a brush would leave marks. The shade is a pale, yellowish cool gold, so a lighter and less saturated version than full gold. It suits hardware, frames, clasps, small decorative elements and picking out edges with a dry stroke.
The filling is acrylic, that is water-thinnable. It does not get on with a fresh solvent-based coat underneath it and the other way round, a lacquer coat sprayed on top can lift it if it is not fixed first. Always cover the tip with the cap after work, otherwise it dries out; a dried tip can be revived by dipping it briefly in alcohol. Store the paint out of the reach of children and work in a ventilated room.
For modelers who want to paint a small thing quickly and without preparation, and for builders of figures and accessories where a few square millimeters of surface are at stake. Against a bottle and a brush it does away with mixing, cleaning and a drying palette, which pays off especially when the same small thing recurs ten times on a model.
Store the marker pen tip down or lying flat so that the filling stays at the tip. Standing tip up it dries out faster and the first stroke after a longer break then comes out pale.
