A wet palette for acrylic and water-thinnable paints, PRO version, from DSPIAE. It keeps a mixed shade workable for several hours.

A closable box in which paint does not dry out. The principle is simple: an absorbent layer soaked with water lies on the bottom, the mixing paper goes over it and that lets moisture through only slowly. Paint on it therefore stays workable for hours instead of minutes. For painting figures and for smooth transitions that is the difference between working and constantly mixing more, because acrylic paint on a dry palette stiffens before it can be applied.
Soak the absorbent layer with clean water so that it is damp rather than leaving a puddle in the palette. Lay the mixing paper on top and smooth it down so that no air is left underneath. After work rinse the palette out and leave it open to dry; closed and damp it will grow mold and the paper will then ruin the paint. The PRO version has separate compartments for water and for paint.
The palette is intended exclusively for water-thinnable paints. Solvent-based enamels and lacquers do not work on it, because they do not get on with water. Replacement absorbent and mixing papers are sold separately and are a consumable.
Paints and brushes are not included in the package.
The palette is worth it for anyone who brush-paints more than occasionally. With spraying it comes into play less, because the paint is mixed straight in the airbrush cup and on a palette it would only dry out needlessly.
