Five stainless steel spatulas with springy blunt blades in various shapes and sizes. The blades do not cut, so they can be used directly on a model with no risk of scratching the surface. Stainless steel can also be cleaned of dried paint after work and does not rust.
When working with sticky putties, moisten the blade with water or soapy water; the compound then does not stick to the steel and can be shaped smoothly. Mix paint on the palette with the flat side and by dragging, not with a circular motion, as less air is worked into it that way. Wipe the tool right after work, because dried epoxy compound comes off the blade considerably harder. The springiness of the blade is also useful for pressing the compound into a tight spot or, the other way round, for wiping off the excess.
The different blade shapes suit different tasks. A straight wide blade levels a surface, a narrow pointed one reaches into a corner and a curved one helps to shape a rounded transition, for example at a cast boss or a weld.
The blades are blunt, yet handle them carefully and keep them out of the reach of children.
