DSPIAE PMT-H05 is precut masking tape with hexagons five millimeters in size. The middle size in the range, usable on most surfaces of ordinary models.

A sheet of masking tape with finished hexagons five millimeters in size. It is the most universal size in the range: the pattern is still distinct, yet it does not look coarse even on smaller parts. It comes into play on the covers of robot figures, on modern military subjects and on accessories where the surface is meant to look technical rather than painted.
Either you stick the hexagons themselves on and spray around them, so that the honeycomb stays in the underlying color, or you leave the surrounding frame on the model and the new paint reaches only the pattern. By combining the two procedures a multicolor version appears, or a transition in which the honeycomb gradually disappears.
The set is aimed at builders of robot figures and modern military subjects and is a good first choice if you are not sure about the size. For large surfaces reach for the coarser sizes in the range, for small parts for the finest one.
The honeycomb does not have to cover the whole surface. A band along the edge of a panel, or just the area around a hatch, often looks more believable than a continuous carpet of the pattern across the whole model. The tape is a masking aid, not a decal. Once the spraying is done and it has been taken off, it is thrown away.
