1:32 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Ia Battle of Britain - Airbrush Masks Set is a set of painting masks for the markings and technical lettering of a Spitfire model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut painting masks for a model of the British Supermarine Spitfire fighter in the Mk.Ia version from the time of the Battle of Britain, in 1:32 scale. The set does not deal with glazing but with the markings and the technical lettering: what is usually applied as a decal is here sprayed directly in paint. The result has no glossy film under the motif, so the markings look like part of the finish.
The Spitfire Mk.I was the first production version, and it was with this one that the Royal Air Force fought the Battle of Britain. It was powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin V12, that is, an engine with its cylinders set above the crankshaft. The Mk.Ia form carried eight machine guns in the wing, unlike the Mk.Ib with cannon. The elliptical wing gave the machine its unmistakable silhouette and at the same time excellent handling.
Masking markings is more demanding than masking glazing and calls for an order of work. Let the surface cure completely, only then apply the mask and spray very thin coats so that nothing runs under the edge. On multicolored national insignia you work in layers and let each one dry in between. Try the placement of the parts dry first.
The set contains painting masks only. Paints and the model are not included in the package.
