Hataka Blue Line - neutral light gray, 10 ml

An acrylic modeling paint from the Polish maker Hataka, from the Blue Line range, in a light gray shade with no color cast. The name of the shade is French, which refers to period French color designations. Blue Line is a water-thinned acrylic with a high pigment content, tuned above all for brushing. The bottle holds 10 ml.

What the paint is thinned with

It is thinned with water or with acrylic thinner from the same maker, not with lacquer thinner. Do not confuse this range with the lacquer range from the same maker; the chemistry and the thinner are different. For the airbrush thinning is necessary, because the paint is deliberately thick. With light grays the thinning is especially delicate: over-thinned paint will not hide the surface underneath and the coats start to pull into patches.

Use

• Stir the paint thoroughly before taking any out, as the pigment settles to the bottom.
• Apply light shades over a primer, otherwise the surface underneath shows through.
• For the airbrush, thin with water or with acrylic thinner from the same maker.
• A neutral gray also serves as a base for mixing other shades.
