HTK-BS109 Ukrainian AF Paint Set Volume 2 (Grey Pixel)

Hataka Blue Line - paint set for gray pixel camouflage

A set of acrylic modeling paints from the Polish maker Hataka, from the Blue Line range, put together for one particular camouflage scheme: the gray pixel pattern of the Ukrainian Air Force. The advantage of a set is that the shades are chosen to work together, so there is no hunting for and buying up of individual bottles. Blue Line is a water-thinned acrylic tuned above all for the brush.

What pixel camouflage is

Pixel camouflage replaces soft, flowing transitions with a grid of small rectangular areas. It originated for ground equipment and uniforms and reached aircraft later. For the modeler it is a demanding scheme: the pattern cannot be sprayed freehand and calls either for masks or for very patient work with a brush. The set covers the color side, not the way it is applied.

Use

• Stir each paint thoroughly before taking any out, as the pigment settles to the bottom.
• For the brush the paint can be used unthinned; for the airbrush, thin with water or with acrylic thinner from the same maker.
• Painting masks or a fine brush suit a pixel pattern.
• Apply in several thin coats so that the edges stay crisp.

Who it is for

For builders of contemporary aircraft subjects who want the shades for one scheme together.

Keep out of the reach of children, close the bottles carefully after use, and when spraying ensure ventilation and use respiratory protection.
