Red 3 mm LEDs, 10 pieces from Green Stuff World: finished wired LEDs with a resistor and leads, ready for use.
Responsibility details are not available.
A package of ten red light-emitting diodes three millimeters in diameter, supplied already completely wired: each has leads soldered on and a resistor of its own, so you can connect them to a power source straight away without having to calculate or solder anything. The leads measure twenty centimeters on each side and the resistor has a value of one and a half kiloohms.
According to the manufacturer they will take a supply of three to eighteen volts, glowing faintly at three volts and at full strength at twelve, so the brightness can be tuned with the voltage. Watch the polarity: a diode conducts current in one direction only and connected the other way round it simply does not light, which is the most common cause of a supposed fault. The leads are thin, so do not pull them tight when threading them through an opening, and glue them down in the model so that no pull reaches the joint. Three millimeters is a size that will hide even inside smaller parts, but reckon with having to sink the diode in before you close the model up.
For builders of lit dioramas and buildings, for modelers of vehicles with lights and for anyone who wants lighting without soldering and without calculating resistors.
This is an electrical component. Store it out of the reach of children, do not connect it to the mains without a suitable power source, and do not short the leads.
