A tool from the Green Stuff World brand. It serves to punch a precise circle out of thin material, so you can prepare covering discs of the same size for the bases of figures without laborious tracing. It is used on modeling material, thin plastic, cork, paper and on the texture strips with which bases are finished. A disc punched out in one movement has a straight edge all the way around, which can hardly be repeated by working with a knife by hand.

Use

• lay the material on a soft surface that will not damage the tool
• set the cutter upright and press evenly, not at an angle
• with harder materials, turn the tool a few times rather than pressing hard
• stick the punched disc on the base and finish the edges with a file
• wipe the blade after work and store it dry, otherwise remains of the material will settle on it

Who it is for

The tool will be appreciated above all by those who finish larger numbers of bases and want them to look uniform. With one or two figures it is still worth cutting by hand, but with a whole unit work by hand takes many times longer and the result tends to be irregular. It also suits making circular parts for dioramas, such as hatches, covers or paving features.

The tool is sharp, so store it out of the reach of children and keep your other hand out of the path of the blade while working. When working with harder materials, use a soft plastic surface and not a glass board.
