A publication, not a kit. Volume 61 of the aviation series from the British publisher Warpaint Books, written by Richard J Caruana, is devoted to the Italian Savoia-Marchetti S.79 Sparviero. The text is in English and the softcover format matches A4.
The Sparviero, that is sparrowhawk, was an Italian three-engine bomber of mixed wood and metal construction, and it cannot be missed thanks to the hump above the cockpit that held the upper gun. It grew out of a fast transport aircraft with which Italy collected a string of speed and distance records in the 1930s. It made its combat debut in the Spanish Civil War, but it went down in history as the main machine of the Italian torpedo units in the Mediterranean: it attacked low over the water against British convoys and against the forces heading for Malta. A twin-engine export version, the S.79B, was built as well; it reached Romania, Iraq and Brazil and differs in a completely different nose.
For modelers who build Italian subjects in 1:72 or 1:48 and want a basis for Regia Aeronautica camouflage, and for anyone interested in the war in the Mediterranean. The extent of the volume is not stated here; the number of pages differs between the individual titles of the series.
