DSPIAE SF-17 is a glass polishing file with an irregular profile. The shape is designed for joints and transitions a flat face cannot reach.
Responsibility details are not available.
A file of tempered glass with a very fine texture and an irregular profile to its working section. The irregular shape has a specific reason: a flat face will not reach into a narrow joint, into a corner or into a concave transition, so it is exactly there that the marks of the previous sanding stay. A shaped profile polishes those stretches out along with the rest of the part.
It practically removes no material, it only smooths the surface. It is a finishing tool and comes in only after abrasive paper. Against metal, tempered glass does not clog as fast, does not corrode and does not dirty light-colored plastic with rub-off.
The file will be appreciated by those who finish intricate parts before a gloss coat, that is typically robot figures, car bodies with pressed shapes and models with many separate panels. For large flat faces a file with a flat working section is more suitable.
A shaped file does not replace a flat one, it complements it. Faces and longer edges are finished with a flat working section and this one comes in only where the flat one cannot reach. Do not breathe in the sanding dust from plastic and resin; work with extraction or at least with a respirator.
