Replacement Teflon sealing rings for the cup of Mobius series airbrushes from Gaahleri, part number 42236. Teflon, that is PTFE, was chosen for its resistance to thinners and its low friction, so the ring does not bind on the thread. The package holds the O-rings, no other part and no cup.
The ring sits in the joint between the paint cup and the body of the airbrush. As long as it seals, the paint stays in the cup even when the airbrush is tilted. Once the ring hardens or gets nicked, paint starts to seep out under the cup and air appears in the joint, which shows up as bubbles in the cup and an unstable spray.
For owners of Gaahleri Mobius series airbrushes who maintain the tool themselves. The O-ring goes on dry and without levering with a sharp tool that would nick it, and it is tightened by feel, not by force. Check the extent of the package on the packaging. Always clean in a ventilated area and do not leave thinner standing in an open cup.
