Supermarine Seafang F.31/F.32: a mask for the canopy and the wheel disks (1:72, Kovozavody Prostejov)

A set of exactly cut self-adhesive masks for a model of the British carrier-borne Supermarine Seafang fighter in the F.31 and F.32 versions in 1:72 scale. The masks cover the framing of the cockpit canopy and the surfaces of the wheel disks, so that after the paint is sprayed you get a sharp boundary between the frames and the glazing. This is a masking accessory, not a model on its own.

The real subject

The Supermarine Seafang was the carrier-borne version of the Spiteful fighter with a laminar wing, derived from the Spitfire. It came about at the very end of and just after the Second World War, but with the arrival of jet aircraft it did not reach extensive service and remained in small numbers only.

Use

• Lift the mask off and apply it onto a clean, degreased canopy.
• Press the edges down and spray the paint in thin coats, so that it does not run under the mask.
• Mask the wheel disks separately because of the sharp separation of the hubs from the tires.
• Take the masks off shortly after the paint has dried.
