An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 fighter in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Eduard. The model depicts the famous Gustav version, recognizable by the characteristic bulges on the engine cowling. Eduard makes the Bf 109G-6 in several sub-variants (early and late production and the /AS version among them) and in the ProfiPACK and Weekend editions — the exact sub-variant, edition and contents of the package are identified by the manufacturer's kit number.
The Bf 109G-6 was the most numerously produced version of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 and formed the backbone of the Luftwaffe fighter force in 1943 and 1944. It was powered by the inverted V12 Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine. Its typical feature was the bulges on the nose cowling covering the breeches of the heavy MG 131 machine guns. The machine was produced in enormous numbers and committed on every front.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and sand the joints carefully. Paint the cockpit and pick it out before closing the fuselage. Late-war German fighters carried camouflage of gray shades with pronounced mottling on the sides of the fuselage — after applying the gloss clear coat and the decals, pick out the panel lines with a wash and add fine wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
