This set from RESArm contains resin, 3D-printed main wheels for a model of the Soviet Sukhoi Su-2 aircraft in 1:48 scale. The wheels are made with a realistically flattened tire contact patch, as though the weight of the aircraft were resting on them. It is not a kit of a model but a set of detail replacement parts that raise the fidelity of the landing gear.
It replaces the wheels from the plastic kit with more faithful resin parts. The load effect (deformation of the tire where it touches the ground) is one of the most noticeable details that set a standing aircraft apart from a model with perfectly round wheels. It is best to fit the wheels at the end of the build and to align the flat area exactly with the base.
First wash the parts free of any print resin residue, carefully separate them from the print supports and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. A primer before painting is recommended.
This is a resin detail set, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
