This is a resin set of miniature tetrapods, that is concrete elements in the shape of four legs, which in reality are set along coastlines, breakwaters and harbor moles to damp the energy of the waves. The set holds a large number of identical parts, so a continuous mole or a coastal defense can be built from them. It is not a model of a ship or a structure but a diorama accessory for 1:700 scale.
Tetrapods give harbor and naval scenes in 1:700 scale a realistic edge of land. They suit breakwaters, piers and coastal bases beside models of warships and civilian ships. Thanks to the large number of pieces the builder can stack the mole to any length and density.
First wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut away the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The blocks can be stacked loosely on one another like a real mole. The concrete look comes out well after spraying a gray base, blending the color tones and bringing out the joints with a dark wash with a hint of dust and salt deposits.
It is supplied as an unassembled and unpainted resin set. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
