Lukgraph Hawker Fury, British Service, 1:48 is a fully 3D-printed (resin) kit for experienced modelers that captures the British interwar fighter biplane in its RAF version.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Polish manufacturer Lukgraph offers the Hawker Fury as a fully 3D-printed kit in photopolymer resin; it is not injection-molded polystyrene. This release is devoted to British machines (British Service), that is the Fury in RAF colors and those of related users. The manufacturer states four marking options for it. Mind one possible mix-up: Lukgraph also issues a Spanish Service version alongside it, and the Fury in the larger 1:32 scale as well, and the difference is not only in the decals. The British and Spanish editions differ in a different fuselage, a reworked radiator and different landing gear, because the Spanish machines differed from the British ones in construction. Choose according to the aircraft you want to build.
The Hawker Fury was a British single-seat fighter biplane of the 1930s and one of the most elegant aircraft of its day. It was powered by the Rolls-Royce Kestrel V12 engine and the Fury became famous as the first RAF fighter to exceed 200 miles per hour in level flight. It served with prestigious RAF squadrons and became an icon of prewar air displays. By the start of the Second World War, however, it was hopelessly obsolete: the biplane layout, fixed landing gear and open cockpit stood no chance against modern monoplanes, and the machines ended their days mainly with training units.
Resin and 3D-printed parts must not be glued with polystyrene cement, which does not work. Use cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or epoxy. Wash the parts first in warm water with detergent (residues of release agent or of uncured resin), cut off the print supports and level the surfaces. Always sand wet and with respiratory protection, because resin dust is not healthy. Primer is essential before painting, and thin printed parts should be sprayed with an airbrush in thin coats. Allow for the fact that on a biplane the rigging is a key and time-consuming part of the build; plan it while you are fitting the upper wing and use drawn fishing line or special elastic thread. Plan the strut fittings and the cockpit masking with care, because the thin struts are fragile.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin (3D-printed) kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
