J.M.S.D.F. destroyer Takanami 1:700 is a plastic waterline kit of a modern Japanese ship from the Aoshima brand.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit in 1:700 scale from the Japanese brand Aoshima, from the waterline line. The model captures a destroyer in active service with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. The parts breakdown is clear and easy to build, while still capturing the ship's present-day silhouette faithfully.
Takanami is the lead unit of the destroyer class of the same name in the Japanese maritime forces. Compared with the previous class she received a more powerful 127 mm main gun and modern equipment for both air defense and anti-submarine work. The ship serves on the front line to this day.
The model makes it possible to capture the low-visibility gray scheme of recent years, for which an airbrush and subtle shading of the surfaces come in handy. The waterline hull can be set on a base or into a water surface made of gel. Photo-etched railings and aerials will help with the fidelity, and the small parts should be glued with cyanoacrylate glue. The decals and painting guide supplied make the final details easier.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
